Die Band sprach vor dem Release von einer Art kreativer Wiedergeburt – und hat absolut nicht zu viel versprochen! Nie zuvor hat man The Pretty Reckless stilistisch abwechslungsreicher erlebt. Statt ständig nur aufs Gaspedal zu treten, pendelt das Quartett 12 Songs lang zwischen wütenden Abrissbirnen („Death by Rock and Roll“), atmosphärisch-brütenden Midtempo-Tracks („25“), zurückgelehnten Pop-Rock-Nummern („Got so high“) und berührenden Balladen („Standing at the wall“). Mit „Broomsticks“ sind noch eine schaurig-schöne Halloween-Hymne und mit „Harley darling“ sogar ein lupenreiner Country-Rock-Song dabei. Ein bärenstarker Mix, der hochkarätige Gäste wie Matt Cameron (Pearl Jam), Kim Thayil (Soundgarden) und Tom Morello (Rage Against The Machine) eigentlich gar nicht gebraucht hätte. Mit anderen Worten: Sterben war nie schöner – willkommen im Rock and Roll-Paradies!
